improvements to aged care facilities
RSL LifeCare Teloca House is a 61 bed residential aged care facility in the historic NSW country town of Narrandera. Young+Metcalf designed a new 15 bed wing with lounge and dining rooms which complements the existing architecture, and encloses the end of the facility creating an internal courtyard. The existing building was also refurbished with upgraded kitchen and laundry, a new lounge and porte-cochere entry.
RSL LifeCare Peter Sinclair Gardens involved a section 96 redesign of a 23 bed addition to an existing residential aged care building at Hawks Nest, NSW. The design also included new administrative facilities, a new lounge, dining room and kitchen extension. The building is in a bushfire zone and was designed to match the style of the existing single storey RACF.
RSL LifeCare Agris Hutrof House at Thirlmere, NSW required section 96 amendments and construction documentation for 16 additional bedrooms, new lounge and dining rooms, plus associated utility areas and courtyards. Fire compartment upgrading was also required.
RSL LifeCare Lara Aged Care involved the documentation of 15 new and refurbished bedrooms to an existing residential aged care facility in Dungog, NSW. The project involved extensive work within the existing facility and required detailed programming to maintain daily operations. Extensive fire compartment upgrading was also required within the existing building.
